For Pennsylvania professionals associated with a broad range of first responders (police, EMS, children and youth, corrections, probation, parole, firefighters) we offer training at no cost on “Addiction & Connection to Treatment.” Let’s train those on the front lines of the overdose epidemic to have positive interactions with people in active addiction. All our trainers are peers of our audiences. We challenge audiences to treat people with respect and understanding. See link: https://www.sju.edu/centers/center-addiction-and-recovery-education/training-programsCare@sju.edu is my email.
Shannon Mace

Thanks for sharing, Steve!

If anyone has any questions, feel free to add them to the Q and A box.
Shea Davis
01:02:23
can you share the needs assessment you developed?
Steve Forzato
01:02:33
Sure! CDC and PA DOH funded, which we really appreciate. I’m former police, 28 years undercover, and passionate about public service professionals connecting people in active addiction to professional treatment. “We can’t arrest our way out of this crisis!”
Adrienne McCain
01:03:42
Is there a certificate of attendance for this training?
Deb Rhoades
01:03:56
do the slides need to be advanced?

Is mobile MOUD/buprenorphine dispensing a focus of Wellness Winnie? Or are there linkages community MOUD providers and does Wellness Winnie assist with transportation?
Crissy Zitka
01:17:24
What was the cost of the van, generally?
Marion Rorke
01:22:08
wow y'all. I've been posting responses in th4e wrong chat. Apologies!
Betsy Chanthapaseuth
01:22:24
Hi Shea, we are noticing that people are more interested in getting their basic needs successfully met first. In order to be successful, often times we have to meet with the people multiple times.
Marion Rorke
01:22:25
https://www.denvergov.org/content/dam/denvergov/Portals/771/documents/CH/Substance%20Misuse/Opioid%20Assessment%20Final.pdf here is the needs assessment. Please note there's something wonky and the quotes on the side that don't always pop up for some reason
Steve Forzato
01:22:35
For anyone in our audience who wants to check out our free Addiction and Connection to Treatment training, the NorthEast Counterdrug Training Center hosts us 3 times a month. Guests from any place in the country are invited. Check link: https://nctc.counterdrug.org/training/upcoming-training/Look for “Phoenix Training - Addiction and Connection to Treatment”
Marion Rorke
01:22:41
We do now have fentanyl test strips on the van as well. While many kits have not been distributed directly on Wellness Winnie, the substance use program as a whole gave out over 700 kits last month alone
Marion Rorke
01:23:08
We do not currently have MOUD on board (fingers crossed for the future), but can get people in a taxi to bring them to directly to the ED for assessment and induction. The treatment on demand program has been expanded to conduct intakes for alcohol and stimulant use disorders as well.
Marion Rorke
01:23:21
anyone in Denver can request naloxone or fentanyl test strips on our website Denvergov.org/OverdosePrevention
Marion Rorke
01:23:38
we bought the van for under $50k to get around difficult purchasing issues to launch quickly. it is used and does not have all the features we would ideally want. The new one will be probably more like $300,000.
